The Boleyn Trust Teaching School
Tollgate Primary School is a National Support School and part of the Boleyn Trust. It is also a Teaching School that leads an alliance of 30 schools across 7 London boroughs – known as the Boleyn Trust Teaching School Alliance. This gives us huge strength and capacity in teaching and learning and we engage in system leadership to support other schools. We are a centre of excellence that hosts national and international visitors to share knowledge and best practice. We play an important part in the school-led system and in school improvement across our Trust, our partnership of Alliance schools and beyond nationally to areas of need.
The Boleyn Trust Teaching School has a focused role that prioritises:
- co-ordinating and delivering high quality school-based ITT through our SCITT called the East London Alliance SCITT (ELA SCITT), working alongside the Davies Lane Teaching School Alliance, we train up to 30 primary school teachers per year through the Schools Direct or PGCE routes;
- providing high quality school-to-school support in London and beyond to spread excellent practice with our highly experienced group of NLEs and over 30 SLEs; and
- providing evidence-based continuing professional and leadership development for teachers and leaders with a focus on improving and evaluating pupil outcomes to ensure sustained improvement over time.
